Dessert Recipes

Cake:    

two 9x2”round pans preheat 350
4 oz. (2/3 c.) semi. choc. chips
1/2 c. boiling water, stir in chips
1 c. butter, creamed with
2 c. sugar, add
4 eggs. Stir in choc. Beat in:
2 1/4 c. AP flour
1 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt, alternating by thirds with
1 c. buttermilk and
1 t. vanilla. Bake at 350 40-45 m.

Filling:
      sift into saucepan:
1 c. sugar
1/3 c. cornstarch
1/2 c. cocoa
1 t. salt. Gradually stir in:
1 qt. milk &
4 yolks. Heat, stirring, til thick. Add
3 oz. butter &
1 t. vanilla. Let cool.

     Icing:
6 oz. white choc. melted with about    3 T. cream

Assembly:
      Slice cake layers in two. Alternate with filling. Top with icing.
